Debmarine Namibia is pleased to announce the return of the Debmarine Namibia Cup for 2018, the platform that fosters our charitable drive and quest to improve young Namibians through football.

The Debmarine Namibia Cup is one of the country’s biggest cup competitions. The elimination rounds for the first and second divisions is expected to kick-off off across the country on 3 - 4 March and 10 – 11 March, while the draw for the second divisions elimination, pitting two regions against each other will take place on 12 March and the winners will face each other on 17 March. Football clubs in the first and second divisions will be battling it out for places in the competition’s round of 32.

The official Cup launch and draw for the Round of 32 will simultaneously take place in Windhoek on 15 March. The Round of 32 will allow regional second divisions and zonal first divisions to compete with the Namibia Premier League teams.

All information pertaining to rules, prizes and venues of the Debmarine Namibia Cup 2018 will be communicated at the launch.

Last year, the anticipated final took place at Gobabis, where Young Africans were crowned champions of the Debmarine Namibia Cup and bagged the N$500 000 top prize.

Individual efforts were also recognised where Itamunua Keimuine of Tura Magic was awarded N$20 000 for being the Top Goal Scorer of the tournament. Young African’s Himeezembi Hengombe was voted Player of the tournament and was rewarded with N$20 000. Young African coach Maleagi Ngarizemo won the Coach of the tournament and was handsomely rewarded with N$15 000 and African Star goalkeeper Mata Mbemutjiua of African Star won the Golden Gloves Award and was given N$15 000.

It was in late 2016 that Debmarine Namibia Chief Executive Officer, Otto Shikongo announced the Company commitment to football in Namibia by availing a sponsorship of N$14.1 million over three-year period (2017 -2019). Debmarine Namibia is fully committed to achieving sustainable development incorporating economic responsibility, environmental responsibility and social responsibility.
