Young Chiefs, Tura Magic, Young African and Mighty Gunners reached the 2017 Debmarine Namibia Cup semi-finals, following their exciting quarterfinals victories at the Legare Stadium in Gobabis on Saturday, 29 July.
Otjiwarongo based Mighty Gunners faced Try Again in the first match of the day, with Mighty Gunners winning by a goal to nil. Hara-Ramseb went on to win the Man of the Match award in that match.
The second match of the day between Tura Magic and fellow Windhoek team Civics ended in one goal to nil in favour of Tura Magic. Itamunua Keimuine won the man of the match award.
In the third match, Gobabis based team Young African took on north eastern side Rundu Chiefs where the two sided went on penalties following a 0-0 score line. Young African won the
shootout by 5-4. Himee Hengombe of Young African won the Man of the Match award.
Eastern Chiefs took on Oshakati-based Young Chiefs in the final match of the Quarterfinals. Young Chief won comfortably by scoring 5-1.
Mighty Gunners will face will face Tura Magic while Young Chiefs will face Young African in the semi-final slated for next month. Each club in the semi-finals will receive N$ 20 000 for travel and preparations, while the fees will also be increased to N$ 30 000for two finalists. The man- of-the-match award carry N$ 2000 in the Semi-finals and N$ 5000 in the final, while these players will also select a charity of their choice to receive a similar amount.
