Celebrating Excellence: Miss Namibia 2024 Prize-Giving Ceremony

At a glamorous event held on Tuesday, 20 August in Windhoek, reigning Miss Namibia, Prisca Anyolo, was awarded a Toyota Starlet Cross, marking a highlight of the Miss Namibia 2024 prize-giving ceremony. The event, hosted by the Miss Namibia Organisation in partnership with the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), celebrated the achievements of the finalists and winners of the competition.

In addition to the grand prize of the vehicle, the Miss Namibia 2024 winner walked away with a cash prize of N$150,000, a monthly allowance of N$3,000 totalling N$36,000 for the year, and N$2,000 for making it to the Top 10 finalists. Her total prize package amounts to N$188,000. Miss Namibia will also have full use of the vehicle during her reign, after which it will be hers to keep.

The First Runner-Up received a total of N$72,000, which includes N$70,000 in prize money and N$2,000 for being a Top 10 finalist. Similarly, the Second Runner-Up took home a total of N$52,000, with N$50,000 in prize money and N$2,000 for being in the Top 10.

Each of the Top 10 finalists received N$2,000 as a token of appreciation for their participation in the prestigious event. These prizes not only celebrate their beauty but also acknowledge the hard work and commitment they brought to the competition.

In her acceptance speech, Prisca Anyolo expressed her deep gratitude to the sponsors, saying, “These gifts are not just symbols of success but a reminder that I’m surrounded by a community that believes in the power of purpose and the potential of each Namibian woman.”

The NBC's Director General, Stanley Similo, extended his thanks to the sponsors, noting, “Without your support, we would not be here.”

The CEO of one of the key sponsors, Willy Mertens, likened the journey of the contestants to the formation of diamonds under pressure. He also gave heartfelt advice to Miss Namibia regarding her new vehicle, urging her to use it responsibly and to remember the brand values she now represents.

The event highlighted the power of pageantry to empower young women and provide them with opportunities to achieve their dreams.
